Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to:
form simple sentences in modern Chinese (in speech and writing)
understand simple fluent speech by Chinese native speaker
read simple text in modern Chinese
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: - use spoken and written version of new vocabulary - use new grammatical phenomena - answer to basic questions and create basic sentences - react properly in basic dialogue on textbook topics

Teaching methods
The course is taught by Chinese native speaker who combines various teaching methods (conversation, questions answering, listening, written tasks, presentations etc.)
Assessment methods
1) 3 absences allowed in one semester. In case of 4 or more absences the student fails. Students must not switch study groups, unless the teacher explicitly approved it.

2) The students fullfill all tasks given by the teacher:
- vocabulary test (every week) - total score min. 70%
- assignment homework (every week) - must be submitted on time (hand-written only) and approved by the teacher each time
- exam (every 3 weeks) - total score min. 70%
Failure in any of these tasks results in total failure in the course.

3) There is no final test.
