Prerequisites (in Czech)
Téma bakalářské diplomové práce si posluchač domluví osobně s interním učitelem ústavu. Práci je nutno zadat nejpozději před započetím 5. semestru magisterského studia.Předpokladem je předchozí absolvování AEB_A17a Bachelor's Thesis Seminar I. Souběžně je možné zapsat AEB_A17b Bachelor's Thesis Seminar II. Téma diplomové práce se registruje v IS MU. Téma je možné registrovat jen v první polovině semestru, po termínu je již registrace uzavřena až do začátku dalšího semestru.

Course objectives
Bachelor’s degree thesis is targeted at archaeological approach to topics of minor or medium importance concerning prehistoric to modern times. Student should demonstrate the ability to grasp and interpret the problem by oneself. Artefactual topics have priority but theoretical issues also can be addressed after consultation with pedagogues. Emphasis is put on formal and technical level of documentation, correct terminology and good practice in working with professional literature.
Learning outcomes
The outcome is a completed and submitted bachelor’s degree thesis, whose contentual and formal level, ethics and originality meet the standards of a university degree thesis.
Syllabus
  • The course is only intended for elaboration of the bachelor’s degree thesis:
  • Formulation of the topic, main problems to be addressed and structure of the thesis.
  • Heuristics and retrieval of data, their formal processing and criticism.
  • Analysis and evaluation of material artefacts, if necessary.
  • Elaboration of graphic supplements.
  • Analysis and synthesis of data.
  • Conclusions and interpretations.
  • Continuous consultation of the work, achieved results and problems.
  • Completion and submission of the thesis.
Literature
  • Further literature for the diploma thesis is assigned on an individual basis based on the topic of the thesis. | (in Czech) Literatura pro diplomovou práci je předepsána individuálně podle tématu práce.
Teaching methods
Student elaborates by oneself the bachelor’s degree thesis and consults the work continuously with his/her thesis supervisor.
Assessment methods
Submission of completed bachelor’s degree thesis. The thesis advisor confirms the approval of the completed thesis for defence by awarding the course-unit credit. Graded evaluation of the thesis is subject of defence and is based on assessments by the opponent and the thesis advisor.
