This course is primarily intended for students in the combined form of studies, who have an intermediate/upper-intermediate knowledge of German. This is a compulsory course with various language options for students of Bachelor's and Master's studies.

Course objectives
The course aims to achieve the level B2 of the Common European Framework. This is particularly the ability to present technical issues, monitoring expert discussions, understanding the main ideas of texts of their field of study and also the ability to fluently and spontaneously respond and explain their views on current issues in an interview with native speaker.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the students will be able to: give a presentation dealing with topic related to their studies and discuss the topic; write a letter; answer questions about a reading or listening text from academic context.

Assessment methods
Dates of testing are displayed always 2 weeks before the winter or summer Ex. time.
For students combined study pays special conditions:
1) they do not attend classes.
2) Credit (if they have written cjvn1p) and test (cjvn2p) take place simultaneously, the examination dates for combined students during the winter or summer examination period.
3) The credit course is completed by an exam. The exam has two parts – written (listening, reading and grammar, writening) and oral (presentation + discussion on an academic/professional topic).
