- Course objectives
- Dr. Kenneth G. Hay is an emeritus professor and the head of the School of Design Leeds in GB. He lives in the Southern France where he runs a private gallery of the contemporary art Le Vieille Poste. The goal of the course is to introduce into ideas of contemporary fine art. Eight lectures consists of themes of contemporary art and aesthetics: an overview, Italian aesthetic motives in European heritage, a derridian concept of meaning, ideas of contemporary artworks in general, art and aesthetics as well as art education in Great Britain.The goal of the course is to introduce into ideas of contemporary fine art. - Learning outcomes
- Students will learn and acquire the current approaches, methods and concepts in use and practice.
- Syllabus
- The present state of Art and Aesthetics in Europe. The Italian heritage in Aesthetics: Della Volpe, Croce and others. Aesthetics and Politics. Inter-relations. The Meaning of Art in the Modern Society. How to understand the contemporary Fine Arts? The Art education in Great Britain. The leading tendencies in today´s art.
