Cíle předmětu
The aim of the course is to get students involved in the academic discussion on identity construction in modern China. Invited guest speakers from the various disciplines will share their ideas and approaches towards the course related topics with the students. On one hand, the theoretical concepts of identity will be discussed, and on the other hand, students will get involved in the current academic discussions on identity constructions in China with focus on the various ethnic minority groups.
Výstupy z učení
At the end of the course, the students will be aware of inter-/transdisciplinary approaches and perception of the theoretical framework of identity, as well as they will achieve a critical understanding of the construction of identity within the framework of China’s ethnic policies. The students will be able to apply independent critical thinking skills when making use of academic materials.
