- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to journalistic opinion genres, especially for written journalism, both theoretically and practically. Students will gain knowledge of the key genres of opinion journalism (review, critique, commentary), and more broadly feature genres (interview, report, feature, essay), contemporary form of these genres in the Czech journalism. Students will regularly create these genres publishable in media.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the students will be aware of the characteristics of opinion journalism genres. Students will learn the current practice of journalistic genres including their critical reflection. Students will learn a good amount of knowledge and practical skills necessary for producing individual journalist texts. After completing the course, the student will also be able to write texts using the basic genres on a professional level.
