Course objectives
- practical use of acquired knowledge from previously completed courses (verification and application of knowledge),
- creating basic ideas about the inclusion of a particular facility in the education and social policy system, - creating basic ideas about the overall system and operation - equipment, its goals, services, activities and clients,
- Getting to know the organization's management, planning.
The aim of the practice is to acquaint students with various types of facilities and thus to shorten the adaptation period after taking up employment and to create conditions for rapid professional growth.
Learning outcomes
- development of critical thinking about social work,
- development of self identification with a future profession,
- reflection of professional rules and practices in practice (codes, standards ...),
- reflection of personal / professional development (values, attitudes, strengths, weaknesses) with emphasis on further education, self-education, - involvement in the work team,
- taking responsibility for your own work,
- time management and psychohygiene in practice
Syllabus
  • 1) Introductory informative meeting - students are given all information about the whole course of professional practice and for the final meeting.
  • 2) Fulfillment of practice objectives depending on the particular facility.
  • 3) Final meeting - students will introduce each other, through short contributions, to the facilities where they have completed their work experience, briefly describe their activities and experience gained. Before the final meeting (no later than 3 days in advance), the students will submit a practice diary to be returned to them for evaluation.

Assessment methods
After completing the practicum, the student submits a practice diary (records of professional practice), which includes at least:
1) Confirmation from the worker of the facility by   number of days and hours of professional experience.
2) Brief characteristics and focus of the device.
3) Progress Report (2 pages - written by the student). The report contains a description of the activities that the student has done on the practice, the course and conclusions (contribution, experience in the future, etc.).
4) Student evaluation by responsible staff.
The student is obliged to attend the introductory and final meetings. Each student has an assigned consultant. He may or may not use ongoing individual consultations. Student visits may also have an impact on student assessment.
