Course objectives
Sound studies is a modern interdisciplinary project with aim to grasp and explain the function of sound in human communication and culture in general. Sound studies therefore utilizes and combines the knowledge, attitudes and methods of various disciplines, as cultural anthropology, psychology, semiotics, acoustics, musicology, and last but not least also philosophy and aesthetics.
Learning outcomes
Graduate of the one-semestral course “Sound studies II.” will achieve knowledge and skills enable him/her to grasp sound as an acoustic and cultural phenomenon and use it as a cognitive tool and means of art expression.
