Course objectives
Explain the concepts of mythology and myth, their history and introduce some selected mythological stories and their reception in later literature and other artistic genres (up to the present day). The goal of the course is a detailed knowledge of selected myths and their inspiration for other cultural periods.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
explain the concepts of myth and mythology and know the most important scholars in this field; know in detail selected myths; know how these myths have influenced later art and culture as their inspiration; critically evaluate subsequent treatments of selected myths.

Assessment methods
Written test: content of lectures, screenings, guest appearances, texts entered into IS. The test contains 15 - 20 open questions, takes about 30 minutes and requires a minimum of 75% pass rate to pass the colloquium.
