- Course objectives
- Through the example of the two-hundred-year history of the critical approach to medieval sources within the editorial project Monumenta Germaniae Historica, the student will learn about the various forms and transformations of modern historical thinking in Central Europe.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- describe the nature and ideological background of the main chapters in the history of modern historical thought;
- understand the nature, tasks and significance of editorial work for the critical examination and interpretation of historical contexts;
- write an essay on the influence of MGH on Czech historical thought; - Syllabus
