- Course objectives
- Upon successful completion of the course, students will reach intermediate level in Chinese language (of roughly A1.1).
- speaking: students will be able to reproduce conversation schemes in basic conversation situations given by the textbook. At the same time, they will independently apply the conversation schemes and acquired vocabulary to other interactive conversation situations.
- reading: students will be able to read basic conversation texts given in the textbook. At the same time, they will be able to apply acquired grammar, vocabulary and the reading principles to unknown texts, and increase necessary reading comprehension.
- writing: Students will acquire basic principles of writing Chinese characters and understand their structure. Students will be able to actively reproduce any written text in the textbook. Students will be able to use acquired skills to produce their own wrtitten text.
- listening and comprehension: Students will be able to identify and comprehend conversation situations in the textbook. - Learning outcomes
- Upon successful completion of the course, students will reach intermediate level in Chinese language (of roughly A1.1).

- Lesson 5-7 of Integrated Chinese Level 1 Part 1. 1. Lesson 5: phonetic exercise, grammar: word order in a Chinese sentence, questions, adverbs.

- 3. Lesson 5: phonetic exercise, grammar: questions, adjectives, measure words, grammar exercises

- Teaching methods
- The course which has a form of language training, is based on a textbook: Integrated Chinese Level 1 Part 1. The emphasis is put on even cultivation of four basic language competencies: speaking, reading, writting, and listening comprehension by interpretation of grammar, drill in creating correct syntactic structures with respect to specific contexts, reading, and homeworks.
- Assessment methods
- Course completion is conditioned with regular attendance (max. 2 skipped classes permitted), active participation, and home preparation.
Evaluation: regular testing of new vocabulary (min. 60%), or of new grammar; reading comprehension questions during the class. - Language of instruction
