Course objectives
The topic of the course is application of theoretical knowledge in practice of secondary school teaching. The primary objective of Teaching Practice I, the one out of three practical courses, is to connect propaedeutic and department-didactical goals. Systematically, the student has to deal with specific departmental teaching issues as well as the related approach to teaching, its circumstances and opportunities of teaching. Partial goals also belong in these fields.
Learning outcomes
Acquaintance with the school environment and activities related to the teaching profession. Independent pedagogical practice consists of preparation, implementation of the teaching and its subsequent reflection in cooperation with the subject didactics and other students. The student gradually realizes and improves the acquired teaching abilities, skills and knowledge. After completing the course, he will be able to: - identify and summarize the specifics of teaching aesthetic education - apply acquired subject and didactic knowledge in teaching - formulate and share a structured reflection of one's own and observed teaching and lead a valuable seminar discourse - prepare, implement and defend one's own teaching within the subject of aesthetic education independently, with experience, quality and with sufficient self-confidence - to pass on the acquired experience in a suitable way to adept teachers of all advanced levels
Syllabus
  • Teaching Practice I is focused on application of theoretical knowledge the student gained in courses of general pedagogical-psychological basis as well as of department didactics. The dominant part of the course is realized in cooperation with a secondary school of any type (a grammar school, a vocational school, a training school)
Teaching methods
Teaching practice I is one out of three practical courses which help prepare the teaching student for their future job. In sequence, the courses reflect the developing knowledge, skills as well as needs of students of education, therefore, the first course is focused on activities which let the student watch. Assessment methods
During the practice, the student keeps a record, which they later upload in Odevzdávárna. The student is also required to fill in the self-evaluation tool in the IS and hand in the required documentation as specified on https://www.phil.muni.cz/student/pedagogicke-praxe.
