Course objectives
The objective of this course is to provide students with a deep understanding of the digital trends shaping contemporary South Korean society, particularly in the context of the digital economy, cultural innovations, and technological advancements. Students will explore how digitalization influences various aspects of Korean society, including cultural products such as K-pop, the impact of social media, and the evolving role of technology in everyday life. The course also integrates insights from Cognitive Science to understand how digital trends affect cognition, behavior, and social interactions in the digital space.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: identify key digital trends in South Korea and their impact on culture and economy;
analyze the influence of digital technologies on Korean cultural identity, including K-pop;
critically assess the role of social media in Korean society, focusing on politics and interpersonal relationships;
apply theoretical insights from Cognitive Science to the analysis of digital trends in Korean culture;
process analytical tasks and create presentations based on the digitalization of Korean society.

Assessment methods
The course will include weekly discussions in which students will explore current digital trends in Korean society and prepare a final research essay on the topic of digital culture in South Korea.
