Course objectives
The course is divided into four main content blocks that progressively focus on different aspects of facilitation in order to provide participants with the comprehensive knowledge and skills needed to effectively lead workshops, team discussions and group processes. Each block is structured to progressively deepen their understanding and skills in facilitation. The first block focuses on the fundamentals of facilitation, where participants will learn the key skills and tools of a facilitator. The aim is for participants to gain a basic understanding of facilitation and its role in a team. The second block focuses on workshop preparation, where participants learn how to map stakeholders, select appropriate workshop types and prepare everything needed for a successful facilitated meeting. The third block expands the knowledge by designing the workshop structure, selecting methods and activities. Emphasis is placed on practical aspects such as creating a timeline and keeping participants' energy up. The fourth block focuses on the work of the facilitator during the workshop itself, particularly on managing group dynamics, recognizing and resolving conflicts, and working with group roles. The course concludes with self-reflection and feedback, which provides the trainers with an overview of the participants' progress and how effectively they were able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired.
Learning outcomes
Graduates will be able to effectively lead design and team workshops, improving the productivity and creativity of their teams. The ability to moderate discussions and manage group processes will contribute to better collaboration between team members, improved communication and decision-making. Facilitating and moderating workshops are skills highly valued in the fields of project management, research, design and HR, giving graduates an edge in the job market. They will be better prepared for challenging discussions and conflict resolution, which will enhance their professionalism and value to organizations.
