Course objectives
Participants will get a view of the organisation of events through the eyes of the evaluator, i.e. the person responsible for its evaluation. They will try to create the intervention logic of the event in relation to the goals of the organization, prepare data collection for monitoring change, get acquainted with methods of immediate feedback and ways of further work with the findings of the evaluation.
Learning outcomes
Graduate: will increase his/her qualifications and skills in evaluation, which will strengthen his/her professional competences. He/she will be able to demonstrate the value and benefit of actions to his/her organisation, which may support further funding or decision making for future projects. It will improve the ability to analyse the effectiveness and impact of actions, which can lead to better organisational outcomes.

  • Friday, March 7 | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

  • First online meeting

  • The first session is dedicated to the event organizer and the preparation period before the event. It guides participants through the overall approach to evaluation in an organization, addressing the linkage of evaluation to monitoring and timelines. It addresses stakeholder analysis, need analysis, formulation of objectives and event logic.

  • Friday, March 21 | 9 am - 12 pm

  • Second meeting

  • The second thematic session is devoted to the procedures for evaluating a specific action. It guides participants through the methodological possibilities of collecting feedback in a time sequence of what can be done before, during and after the event in order to evaluate it well. It addresses in detail the correct questioning and scaling to be used in questionnaires and interviews.

  • Monday, April 7 | 9 am - 12 pm

  • Third meeting

  • The third thematic session focuses on the aftermath of the event. It deals with the possibilities of processing and comparing the data collected, the formulation of findings, experiences and recommendations, and ways of disseminating the results. The fourth thematic block is devoted to good practice in the activities of the evaluator in the organization. The development of a theory of change linking the organization's objectives to its activities and inputs, the indicator system and the organization's evaluation plan, including the evaluation matrix and questions, are addressed in detail.

Completion of the tasks and preparation of a document summarizing their action and methodological approach to its evaluation (in the submitted structure),on which they will receive feedback from the lecturers. Participation in at least two of the three online meetings.
