Předmět je určen pouze studentům mateřských oborů.
Cíle předmětu
This intensive course introduces students to methods and tools for applying social network analysis (SNA) in diverse educational settings. It covers the use of SNA in classrooms, social pedagogy (e.g., examining peer support networks in marginalized communities), and adult education (e.g., analyzing professional learning networks among adult educators).

The course aims to equip students with the skills to independently conduct social network analysis in these contexts, recognizing both its value and its limitations. Students will learn to work with different types of relational data, including friendships, interactions, and negative ties such as bullying or exclusion.

Through a combination of theoretical insights and hands-on applications, students will gain expertise in planning, collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting network data. The course will also emphasize the ethical considerations and methodological challenges of working with social networks in educational and social settings.
Výstupy z učení
By the end of this course, students will:

• Have acquired a comprehensive understanding of the key concepts, theories, and methodologies used in SNA.
• Be able to apply SNA methods to various educational contexts.
• Develop the ability to plan and conduct an independent social network study, including defining research questions, selecting appropriate network measures, and interpreting findings.
• Gain proficiency in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing relational data using specialized SNA software and tools.
• Be able to critically evaluate the added value, challenges, and limitations of SNA in educational and social research.
• Understand the different types of relationships studied in SNA, including positive ties (friendships, collaborations) and negative ties (bullying, exclusion), and their implications in educational and social settings.
