Course objectives
Theory of proper names' sense (Frege and others), Russell's theory of descriptions and cluster theory, the causal theory of proper names and (its critique of causal theory, nominal description theory (and its critique), theory of direct reference (and its critique), proper names as free variables, proper names with historic or fictive reference, empty proper names, puzzles about belief
