Přehled nejdůležitějších událostí, autorů a děl z literatur balkánských Slovanů v době tzv. národních obrození; ilyrské hnutí; romantismus; postupná konstituce národních literatur u Slovinců, Chorvatů, Srbů a Bulharů; realismus; reflexe osvobození z osmanského područí v literatuře Srbů a Bulharů; jazyková otázka srbsko-chorvatská a bulharsko-makedonská; vliv moderních literárních směrů na jižní Slovany na přelomu 19. a 20. století a v době před první světovou válkou.
