Course objectives
The course is a port of entry to narratology. Its task is to comprehend one of the primary categories of a narratological research. It is going to try to show, from the historical point of view, the evolution of a narrator's conception, its systematic description and its understanding. From partial theorizations we will aim our attention at the main conceptions introduced by Franz Stanzel and Gerard Genette. The goal of the course is to introduce the narrator as a strategy of the comprehension creating. One of the essential parts of the course is the analysis of narrative texts, which help us to follow the narrator's trail that leads theoreticians to systems.
