- Course objectives
- The course will phocus signiphicant personalities, phenomenas, schools and movements involved to the humour typical (also non - typical) for the czech culture of the 20.th century.
- Syllabus
- The curriculum: 1. Terminology, basic interpretion apparatus 2. Interdisciplinary approach 3. Hašek ; mystification (The Party of the Slow Progress in the Bounds of the Law) 4. Ladislav Klíma, Josef Váchal - grotesque 5. Osvobozené divadlo (Liberated Theater) ; The Recesse (the 1930s. - the 1940s) 6. Čapek's and Poláček's critics of the words and phrases ; caricature 7. The Theaters of the Small Forms – VCR projection (text: The Red Seven) 8. T. R. Field ; explosionalism (the 1950s, artist a graphic artist Vladimír Boudník) 9. The lyrics and the grotesque (Macourek, Žáček) ; excrementism (the parody of marxism-leninism) 10. The absurd drama ; The authentic humour of the underground (Bondy, Jirous, Pánek) 11. The Prague irony ; the Movement of the Šmidrs (the 50s - the 60s, research of „weirdness“) and Křižovnická school (depointized humour)
