- Course objectives
- Main objectives are to make students acquainted with the background od Early Greek art (Geometric and Archaic period), to show them the analytic methods of the main themes of the sculpture and picturing of Greeks centres. The students have to elaborate an essay regarding selected theme and prove their abilities to study scientific literature.
- Syllabus
- Main aim of the seminary is to exercise and analyze the main issues of Early Greek art (sculpture, vase picture of the geometic, orientalisising, daedalic, archaic period - to recognize the local schools and main streems of continental, insular and Ionian Greece. The second main theme represents the analysis of the writen evidence not only on the Greek visual arts but also on cultural background of its particular areas (based upon the textes of Pausanias and Herodotos).
