Course objectives
Lecture and seminar are devoted to introduction to literary theory and to Scandinavian literatures. Apart from main problems and most important concepts in the field of literary theory (especially prosody and genres) attention is concentrated on specific features of Scandinavian literatures with the aim to demonstrate practically some general rules.
Syllabus
  • Literary history and literary criticism. Periodization. Main prosodic systems and theory of verse. Development of genres. Some aspects of translatology. Most important tendencies in the history of Scandinavian literatures. General rules and concepts demonstrated on analyses of some representative works of modern Scandinavian literatures.
