- Course objectives
- The lecture is focused on the elementary characteristic and description of demographic springs. It tries to restore the number and structure of population in the Early Modern Ages. It explores the methods of historical demography and its usage as well as conteporary population developments in Czech Republic and Abroad too. One part of the course is practically oriented.
- Syllabus
- Basic typology of demographic sources of the proto-statistic period. Limits and possibilities of a reconstruction of the number and structure of population in the early modern period. Demographic transition. Methods of historical demography and their use in the statistic period. Contemporary trends of population’s development in the Czech lands and abroad. Part of the course is practically oriented toward reconstructing changes in the status and composition of population in selected villages of the former Sternberg estate during 1691-1695.
