Course objectives
Course participants, referred to as 'Trainees', will do this practice teaching on Saturdays in courses of secondary school students preparing for their 'maturita' examinations. This will take place in KAA FF MU. Trainees are expected to demonstrate a wide range of teaching skills compatible with the methodology courses being undertaken in this department. All lessons will be observed by course tutors and fellow-trainees. Feedback will be given by all observers. Parallel to the actual practice teaching, students will undertake some related tasks in the e-learning medium.
Syllabus
  • Trainees will teach in rotation a course that runs for ten Saturdays during the semester. It is organised by our JS for secondary school pupils preparing for 'maturita'. There are two classes, each getting a 90 minute lesson each week. From the trainees' perspective, a Saturday consists of four trainees teaching a 45 minute lesson each, hence each trainee will be required to attend a maximum of five times. Observation of each other is required. After the teaching, there will be a feedback session with the trainer.
  • There will be a planning session before the semester begins. At this time, we will:
  • negotiate the teaching timetable,
  • the general modus operandi will be explained and demonstrated (planning, recording, forms),
  • teaching resources will be discussed,
  • expectations of professional standards will be outlined.
