- Course objectives
- The main objective of the exam is to proof the knowledge of Latin morphology, syntax and stylistics. Students must be particularly able to:
apply grammatical rules in translating sentences into and from Latin;
produce Latin morphological forms (regular and irregular ones);
identify differencies and similarities between Latin morphological forms;
distinguish stylistic devices used in the text and use selected stylistic means. - Syllabus
- The exam consists of a written test from the Latin grammar (vol. I and II from F. Novotný, Zakladní latinská mluvnice, Praha 1957) and Latin stylistics (paragraphs 960-1038 in second band of Historická mluvnice latinského jazyka, F. Novotný, Praha 1955.
