- Course objectives
- The aim is to give students overview, basic theoretical knowledge of the subject and gain skills to use this knowledge in developing simple applications, focused on user interfaces in information and web applications. After the completion of the course students should
be able to:
define the scope of the discipline and to know HCI history;
know about motor, sensory and cognitive abilities of human a machine in the context of HCI;
know interaction models, styles and metaphors;
know and use principles, methods and tools for user interface design;
analyze a evaluate user interfaces usability;
design simple web application using HCI methods and usability criteria;
know future trends in HCI. - Syllabus
- 1. Introduction to subject, definitions, semester projects assignments
- 2. Human and computer – perceptual, motoric and cognitive abilities.
- 3. Interaction principles and models.
- 4. Usability in HCI.
- 5. Methods, principles and life cycle in designing user interface (Information Architecture, Information Design, Interaction Design, Navigation Design, Visual Design).
- 5. Interfaces for people with special needs
- 6. Multimedia, virtual and augmented reality in HCI
- 7. Trends in HCI development.

- Lectures, individual semester projects consultations.
- Assessment methods
- Semester project (team work, two students)50 %. Final and midterm written and face to face tests including defending the semester project 50 %.
