Course objectives
The course is designed as introduction to theories of culture. The course deals with selected theoretical concepts of culture from the interdisciplinary point of view examining the approaches of anthropology, sociology, cultural studies or philosophy.
At the end of the course students will be able to demonstrate the knowledge of selected theories of culture; review selected scholarly theories of culture; interpret the characteristics of the theories; discuss the assets and weak points of the theories of culture.
