- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students will be able to: understand and explain the basic concepts and theories of current influential philosophers; understand the practical relevance of philosophy for today´s society.
- Syllabus
- The most interesting problems in the work of Derek Parfit - the problem of future generations, non-identity, repugnant conclusion, total and average consequentialism.
- The most important problems in the work of Peter Singer - the question of moral status, euthanasia, abortion, environmental protection and famine relief.
