- Course objectives
- The course will adress the central role of visual communication in ancient Greek and Roman civilization and the construction of cultural, social, political, religious, and gender identities through visual objects and rituals. We will address issues such as identity, ideology, power and propaganda, as well as power and reception of images in the public and private sphere.
