- Course objectives
- Having completed the lecture cycle, the students will be able to explain the importance of personalities like F. J. Schwoy, J. N. A. Hanke, A. Zeman, and many others, for ethnology. They will be able to emphasise the significance of the works of Fr. Sušil and his followers for the beginnings of ethnographic studies in Moravia.
- Syllabus
- The aim of the lecture course is to cover the beginnings of the development of ethnography in Moravia and the interest in objects and phenomena from the area of folk culture in the 19th century. The lives of the first pioneers of ethnography and admirers of folk culture will be described and their works evaluated in the specified space. -Cultural and social situation in Moravia -Beginnings of interest in folk culture in Moravia from the end of the 18th century to the end of the 19th century -F.
