Course objectives
In this course the German historiography texts of the Middle ages are thematised, with main focus on the Middle European and Bohemian region. The typical chronicles are discussed in connection with other text types from this sphere - annals, biographies etc. In the seminars the selected texts are interpreted taking the philological as well as historical dimensions into account.
The needed skills for an adequate interpretation of the mentioned texts in various perspectives can be acquired along with the factual information.
