- Course objectives
- The course focuses on the field of descriptive statistics and the introduction of inductive statistics. Lectures on specific topics are complemented by practical seminars using SPSS software. The subject follows the Methodology of Psychology I and serves as a prerequisite of Statistical Method II.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to: understand basic concepts of statistics and their application in psychological research; use a special statistical software (SPSS); entry and transform the research data; master basic data analysis procedures (descriptive statistics, mean comparisons, t-tests, ANOVA); read and understand the results of basic data analysis.

- Introduction to statistics;
- Descriptive statistics;
- Inferential statistics - basic concepts;
- Estimation procedures;
- Hypothesis testing - the one-sample case;
- Hypothesis testing - the two-sample case;
- Hypothesis testing - the analysis of variance (the logic of analysis of variance, one-way ANOVA, factorial ANOVA, repeated measures ANOVA, MANOVA).
