Course objectives
Course description: An outline of European archaeology history. Antiquarian, archaeological (empirical), prehistoric (rational) stages. Contemporary archaeology and its ideological schools. History of Bohemian and Moravian archaeology. Common and different development features. Important figures and their works. Current organisation of the Czech archaeology.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, student will be able to:
- describe the basic development phases of European archaeology
- identify and summarize important features of individual development phases of the discipline
- make the public familiar with key figures in Bohemian and Moravian archaeology

  • An outline of European archaeology history. Antiquarian, archaeological (empirical), prehistoric (rational) stages. Contemporary archaeology and its ideological schools. History of Bohemian and Moravian archaeology. Common and different development features. Important figures and their works. Current organisation of the Czech archaeology.
