- Cíle předmětu
- This semester’s course will provide coverage of a series of fictional works produced in the later Victorian and Edwardian periods. Authors whose work is considered will include Walter Pater, Bram Stoker,Thomas Hardy, Henry James, George Gissing, H.G.Wells, Arnold Bennett, John Galsworthy, Dorothy Richardson, Ford Madox Ford and E.M. Forster.

- Students who have taken the course will have gained a more detailed understanding of social and cultural developments in the late Victorian and Edwardian eras and an ability to analyse and discuss the issues and approaches of fiction developed in these periods.

- The course will be taught through a combination of míní-lectures and small and whole group discussion.
- Metody hodnocení
- The course will be assessed through a combination of attendance and oral contribution (40%) and an essay of 8-10 pages, double-spaced, type size 12 (60%). Essays should be submitted to my e-mail address in the IS (33697@muni.cz) and nowhere else. If you have not received a grade within three days please let me know.
