- Cíle předmětu
- The aim of this course is to be able to function in English in the field of education and use of digital technologies. Specifically, to be able to understand specialized texts when reading and listening and they will be able to use the terminology and specific vocabulary when speaking and writing.
Students will have an opportunity to demonstrate their theoretical and practical knowledge from other courses in debates, discussions, writing ICT posters and blogs and running workshops while using English as the medium of communication in the course. The topics of discussions are subject to negotiations and suggestions of the students and their needs.
Example topics that could be researched during this course include:
- flipped classroom
- project-based learning, problem-based learning
- task-based learning
- blended learning
- online education (engagement, online interaction, synchronous/asynchronous, etc.)
- gamification
- learning management systems (Moodle, Google Classroom, Blackboard, etc.)
- Presence (teacher, cognitive, social)

- By the end of the course, the students will be able to:
- Understand spoken and written educational and technology-related English at B2+ level of the CEFR;
- Produce text relevant to their study needs (examples include a presentation abstract, literature review, project report paper, case study);
- Successfully participate in a spoken and online interaction dealing with relevant educational and technology-related issues at B2+ level of the CEFR;
- Use selected specialist terminology with natural and sophisticated control;
- Show a good command of selected grammar structures at B2+ level of the CEFR;
- Able to synthesise many sources and present them as one idea/ finding clearly and succinctly;
- Interact with the correct register with others: negotiating, debating, collaborating and solving problems constructively;
- Use relevant sources, think critically and debate in an informed way;
- Plan and reflect, provide and receive feedback and act upon them all.
