- Course objectives
- Students will be acquainted with the main topics of lyrics and epics of the Middle Ages in general. Particular emphasis will be given to the situation in the courts of the last Premyslid and Luxembourg, where important literature has been developed in both German and Czech. The German texts written by the authors of this period form the focal point of the content of the course, students will get acquainted with these texts in form of commented text parts.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to talk about literary work by poets from the circle of authors of the Přemyslid court, they will be able to apply their knowledge in the analysis and interpretation of specific literary texts.

- The course is divided into the following subjects: 1. Basic themes of European lyrics and epics 2. Examples of texts from the German Minnesang and spiritual lyrics 3. Circle of authors at the Prague Royal Court: German authors, basic information, texts. 4. The First Old Bohemian literary work
