- Teaching methods
- Preparation for Czech Language Teaching II is the second out of three subjects which help students get ready for teaching in practice. Gradually, the courses reflect the developing knowledge, skills as well as needs of students of teaching. Therefore, the second course focuses primarily on activities which make the student teach on their own. In Preparation for Czech Language Teaching II, the student undertakes: 1) 6 lessons of sitting in on classes of Czech language and literature + 1 lesson of reflection with the mentoring teacher; 2) 6 lessons of teaching on their own + 2 lessons of reflection with the mentoring teacher; 3) 4 lessons of teaching in tandem (together with the mentoring teacher, another teacher or another attendee) + 2 lessons of reflection with the mentoring teacher; 4) 14 lessons of other activities at the school (helping correcting essays, creating teaching aids, accompanying students during a field-trip, planning a project day / field-trip / school trip etc., preparing school projects, participating in school appointments, getting acquainted with educational documentation, assisting with school/class documentation, standing-in for a full-time teacher etc.).
- Assessment methods
- During the practice, the student keeps a record, which is later uploaded in Odevzdávárna of the subject. It is recommended to keep the record afterwards, building on the preceding practice. The student is also required to fill-in the self-evaluation tool in the IS and submit the documentation according to requirements on https://www.phil.muni.cz/student/pedagogicke-praxe. The student also uploads chosen parts of their teacher portfolio as specified: At least 1 plan of linguistic or writing class and 1 plan of literary class, 1 plan of another class of their choice (it can be tandem-taught), 1 teaching aid (a working sheet, a game, a print screen of an electronic aid etc.), an overview of activities they participated in (any format – a summary table, if possible).
