- Course objectives
- The course focuses on enhancing the ability to search for information in open and commercial sources. The aim is to explain basic concepts, to introduce search models and approaches. The course will also focus on the search process and the overview of resources that are used to find information. Part of the course will be exercises, where students will be able to search information in practice.
- Learning outcomes
- After the course, student:
- knows basic terms and information retrieval, models
- can transform the information need into a search query
- can use different retrieval systems and their functions
- is able to search information practically on various retrieval systems and information services
- is familiar with available information resources and knows when to use them

- Semestral project: literature search. The course ends with a practical examination and a debate over the final literature research. Minor interim assignments are given during the semester.
