Course objectives
The course is designed especially for students of the 3rd year of Computational Linguistics, who have already chosen the topic of their bachelor thesis and have started work on the thesis. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with academic writing, with the basics of style and specifics of academic writing in the field of computational linguistics. During the semester students will prepare two texts - part of their bachelor thesis, which will meet the requirements of the academic writing. The course includes homework, short exercises, text corrections, and feedback from the teacher.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- recognize and use essential elements of academic style,
- work with bibliographic data,
- clearly structure and formulate the text of their bachelor thesis,
- properly handle the specifics of predominantly application theses in the field of computational linguistics.

Assessment methods
The credit will be awarded for submission and correction of two texts related to the student's bachelor thesis and for active participation in seminars and fulfillment of homework and short exercises.
