- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to completely prepare students for elaboration of a Diploma thesis. After the succesfull completion of this course, the students will be able to submit the Diploma thesis approved by the supervisor and meeting all the requirements, and to defend this thesis successfully during the final state exam.
- Learning outcomes
- After completion of this course, the students will be able:
- to work with scientific literature
- to arrange, analyze, compile, summarize, evaluate, reproduce and discuss scientific information
- to analyze a given research problem and to suggest a solution
- to suggest an experimental design and to conduct the experiments independently
- to integrate theoretical knowledge into experimental work
- to analyze the results using statistical methods
- to formulate their own conclusions and to discuss them in the context of literature
- to present the results and conclusions of experimental or theoretical scientific work in written or oral forms - Syllabus
- Diploma thesis must be result of student’s individual work, processed according to guidance of the supervisor and according to general principles reported in official web sites of this study program and of the Department of Experimental Biology.
- Teaching methods
- Personal consultation with the thesis supervisor, study of the relevant scientific literature, accomplishment of the experimental part, analysis of the results, writing of the thesis.
- Assessment methods
- The activity of the student is continuously evaluated by the supervisor throughout the course in relation to the work on the thesis.
