Course objectives
Yeast as a simple eukaryot cell. Cell and life cycle of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Genetic techniques. Mechanisms of regulation of transcription and translation in yeast. Recombination. Microtubule and actin cytoskeleton function. Cytoskeleton localized Translation.
Syllabus
  • Obecná charakteristika kvasinek jako jednobuněčného eukaryontního modelu a jejich význam pro výzkum vyšších eukaryont. Buněčný a životní cyklus kvasinky Saccharomyces cerevisiae z pohledu morfologického, genetického a molekulárně biologického. Techniky genetických manipulací vedoucích od sekvence genu k charakterizaci jeho funkce. Chromatin a organizace DNA v kvasinkách (srovnání S. cerevisiae a S. pombe). Poznatky o regulaci transkripce a translace eukaryontní buňky získané na kvasinkovém modelu. Nejnovější poznatky o rekombinaci v kvasince S. cerevisiae. Funkce mikrotubulů a aktinového cytoskeletu u kvasinek. Signální dráhy regulující buněčný cyklus a morfologii kvasinky. Způsoby vesikulárního transportu v kvasince. Speciální kapitola o translaci lokalizované pomocí cytoskeletu.
