- Course objectives
- Advanced practical course of statistical techniques on PC. Application of basic statistics (two-sample testing, correlations, binomial distribution). Advanced ANOVA. Least square method regression techniques. Multivariate regression, heteroscedascity and autocorrelation. Introductory course on multivariate statistical analyses. Introductory course on time series modelling. Model data files analyses.
- Syllabus
- 1.Assumptions and applications of basic statistic analysis (graphical presentations and testing: two-sample testing, correlations, binomial distribution - chi-square, contingency tables). 2. Advanced analysis of variance - types of experimental design and applications. Multiway independent ANOVA, ANOVA with repeated measures, results interpretations. 3. Regressions - least square modelling - basic linear model, polynomial models. 4. Practical experience with solution of heteroscedascity and autocorrelation in common regression models. 5. Introduction to non-linear regressions. 6. Multivariate data analyses (assumptions, method selection and application, interpretations). 7. cluster analysis. 8. principal component analysis. 9. discrimination analysis. 10. Applications of multivariate methods. 11. Introductory course on time series modelling. 12. Analysis of model data -examples of complex data analysis (exploratory analysis, graphs and plots, experimental design, hypotheses, selection of appropriate test, calculations and interpretations).
