Course objectives
Introduction: Territory of the State. Geographical situation of the Slovak Republic. Structure and Relief. The Climate of the Slovak Republic. The Hydrology: Soil Geography: The Biogeography. Protected Natural Territories. The development of population. Urbanisation of Slovakia, changes in settlement structure. The development of economy, the level of industrialisation, its problems and prospects, industry after 1989. Natural background and the development of Slovak agriculture, the disribution of agriculture, the transformation and the privatisation of agricultural production. General characteristics of the transport, natural and economic background for tourism and recreation. Economical regions of Slovakia, new administrative division.
