- Problem set discussions based on the lecture C8500.
- Syllabus
- 1. Art of writing the reaction mechanism. 2. How chemistry studies the reaction mechanisms. 3. Reactive intermediates. Radicals, carbebes, nitrenes etc. 4. Pericylic reactions. Selection rules. 5. Nucleophilic aliphatic and aromatic substitution. 6. Eliminations. 7. Electrophilic aromatic substitution. 8. Additions to C=C bond. 9. Reactions of carbonyl compounds 10. Rearrangements. 11. Free radical reactions. 12. Oxidation and reductions. 13. Transient metal catalysis. 14. Photochemical reactions.
