- Course objectives
- Main objectives of this elective course are as follows: to understand in detail the specific aspects of the animal cell biology - especially with respect to the mammalian cells; to understand the applications of the human cell biology in biomedicine (reproductive medicine, cell therapies), and to understand the principles of the most important methodical approaches in animal cell biology.
- Syllabus
- 1) INTRODUCTION TO THE ANIMAL CELL BIOLOGY: Organization of the living systems, cellular and non-cellular systems, basic characteristics of the prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, types of the eukaryotic cells, evolution of the cell.
- 2) IN VITRO STUDIES OF THE ANIMAL CELLS: In vitro cultivation of the animal cells, tissue cultures and cell cultures, organ cultures, characterization of the diploid and transformed cell lines, practical applications.
