- Course objectives
- This course follow courses of Landscape ecology, Sustainibility and Ecology and Environment.
The goal of this course is understanding and ability of aplication of environmental politics on global, regional and local levels with use of geographic knowledges;
The course is based on own activity of students, that is mostly only controlled by the teacher;
Students are led to discussions, assertive negotiation. - Syllabus
- During the course next topics are expected to be discused, but according to students interest also other themes could be the goal of the lecture:
- 1 Environmental politics in Czechia and in Europe.
- 2. Environmental priorities in Czechia.
- 3. Goals and actions of state environmental politics. Environmental acts.
- 4. Actual problems of Environment in Czechia, Europe and in the World.
- 5.+6. Legislative and institutional instruments in EIA and SEA.
- 7. Discussion about the environmentals aspects of Bachelors theses of students.
- 8. Inhabitans participation in environmental problems, Agenda 21.
- 9. History of the scientific and public interest in Environment.
- 10. Excursion to a firm elaborating ecological and environmental studies with possibility of discussion.
- 11. Excursion to the Department of Environment of the Southmoravian regional authority with possibility of discussion.

- Teaching methods
- The thema of the lecture is mostly presented by the lecturer and some problems of it are mentioned. Important is class discussion, presentation of student´s opinion and its defence. As a bases for this, each of the students elaborates two presentations. First one concernes environmental aspects of his/her Bachelor´s theses, second one (with collaboration of another student) selected environmental topics. Further more, each pair will present one co-referate to topics of another pair of students. All these presentations are the basis for discussion of whole seminar group. Two seminars are prepared as discussions with cheafs of environmental institutions.

- To obtain the credit of this course active approach of the student is necessary.
