- The course is also offered to the students of the fields other than those the course is directly associated with.
The capacity limit for the course is 14 student(s).
Current registration and enrolment status: enrolled: 0/14, only registered: 0/14, only registered with preference (fields directly associated with the programme): 0/14 - fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
- Systematic Biology and Ecology (programme PřF, N-BI, specialization Systematic Zoology and Ecology)
- Course objectives
- The main aim of course: to take basic knowledge about stream regulation, pollution of natural waters and other technical intervention to natural water ecosystems. All is illustrated on practical examples. Last part are theoretical and practical bases for mitigation a revitalization destroyed ecosystems - water bodies.
- Syllabus
- Man activities and biological processes in surface inland waters; global changes in landscape and rivers catchments, hydrological regime of streams - water outtake and derived water power station, ecological minimum discharge; water constructions - longitudinal and cross section regulations, weirs and dams, river discontinuum concept and hydropower peaking; restoration and revitalization of water ecosystems; water pollution - global (nonpoint) pollution (acidification, eutrophication, persistent organic and inorganic pollutants, radioactive isotopes); local and regional pollution (heat pollution, classifications of wastewater, self purification ability of inland water).
