- Course objectives
- Cellular systems of invertebrates, development of tissues from the primary layers of cells and their definitive structure, body cover, movement, respiration, food intake and digestion, body fluids, sensitive and nervous organs, reproduction.
- Syllabus
- Specific features of the invertebrates tissues: ciliated epithelia, cuticle of insects and other arthropods, glandular cells, sensory cells, nonstriated muscular tissues, striated muscular tissues of arthropods, connective tissues, nervous tissues. Organs of invertebrates in general: evolution of integument, skeleton, locomotory organs, types of digestive, respiratory and excretory systems, organs of the reproduction, regulatory organ systems and sensory organs; the sources of diversity and continuity of invertebrates organ systems: analogous and homologous organs and other principles of the evolution of the organ systems. Microscopical anatomy of nonsegmented invertebrates - as models are used: Spongilla lacustris, Hydra sp., Planaria sp., Fasciola hepatica, Taenia solium, Parascaris megalocephala. Microscopical anatomy of segmented invertebrates with exception of Arthropods - as models are used: earthworm, fresh water mussel, edible snail, fresh water bryozoans, starfish. Microscopical anatomy of Arthropods - Crustacea and Insecta
