Department of Biochemistry – Chemistry Section – Faculty of Science - Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to understand the role of RNA in gene expression and its regulation. Multiple roles of RNA (catalytic, coding, regulatory, etc) will be discussed. In addition, the course will highlight advantages and various approaches that can be used to study the structural and molecular biology of RNA. This will provide a unique overview of modern techniques that may help students in their own research to choose the right technique to answer their scientific questions.
- Syllabus
- 1. structure, dynamics and chemistry of RNA 2. "RNA world" hypothesis 3. multiple roles of RNA in gene expression and its regulation 4. advanced biochemical and structural techniques for RNA studies
