- Course objectives
- The aim is to characterize water management in the countryside, especially influence of anthropogeneous activities.
- Syllabus
- Lecture: 1. Relationship between subsystems of water use and subsystems of surface and ground water. 2. Development of water management in individual countries in different periods. 3. Basic terms used in water management. 4. Influences on water circulation; hydrological balance. 5. Qualitative damage of hydrosphere. 6. Water resources and economic problems. 7. Management of drainage and functions of reservoirs in water management. 8. Flood protection. 9. Water withdrawal as water management activity. 10. Water quality as a limiting factor. 11. Protection of water resources; legislation. 12. Protected areas of natural accumulation of surface and ground water. Practice: Elaboration of a seminar work with water management topic in a selected drainage basin. Excursion to the T. G. Masaryk Water Research Institute
